THE SELFHOOD STUDIO

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Last Updated: Oct 8, 2026

1. Acceptance

By accessing this website or purchasing any product or service from The Selfhood Studio (“Company,” “we,” “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use this website or participate in any Offering.

2. Nature of services

The Selfhood Studio provides education and coaching. Its educational content teaches the neuroscience of predictive processing and emotion construction as a framework for self-understanding.

The Company offers three categories of Offering:

Self-paced courses and educational content. Online courses, recorded lessons, downloadable materials, and written content. These are products. Purchasing them does not create a coaching relationship, does not require a Coaching Agreement, and does not cause a coaching record to be created.

Group Framework Coaching. Live group cohort coaching, governed by the Framework Coaching Agreement. Cohort enrollment includes access to the corresponding course.

Individual Framework Coaching. One-to-one coaching, governed by the Framework Coaching Agreement.

None of these are therapy, psychotherapy, diagnosis, treatment, mental health care, or clinical services. No diagnosis is made about any participant. No clinical or medical record is created about any participant. The Company is not a covered entity under HIPAA.

This work may feel personally meaningful. It remains educational or coaching in nature. Participation does not create a therapist–client relationship, a healthcare relationship, or any fiduciary or clinical duty of care. Participants are responsible for seeking licensed clinical support when needed.

3. Separation from clinical practice

Jackie Reynolds is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), licensed in the State of Texas only, and maintains a separate psychotherapy practice. The Selfhood Studio is a legally and operationally distinct education and coaching business, with separate systems and separate records.

Participation in any Offering permanently precludes a psychotherapy relationship with Jackie Reynolds. You cannot become her psychotherapy client at any time, before, during, or after your participation. This does not expire when your participation ends. It exists because a coaching or educational relationship and a clinical relationship with the same person is a dual relationship that professional ethics do not permit.

Current psychotherapy clients of Jackie Reynolds are not eligible to enroll. The Company may decline or terminate participation to prevent a dual relationship.

If a multiple relationship situation arises that cannot reasonably be avoided, the Company will discuss the potential effects with the affected participant, take reasonable steps to avoid harm, and document the discussion in that participant’s coaching record.

4. No clinical duty of care

Participation does not create a clinical duty of care. The Company does not monitor participant wellbeing, provide mental health care, or offer crisis or emergency services. Participants assume full responsibility for their own wellbeing and for decisions made in connection with their participation.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 and have legal capacity to enter this agreement. Offerings are not appropriate for anyone in acute mental health crisis, experiencing active suicidality, or requiring clinical-level intervention.

6. Digital products and access

Access is a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license for personal use only. You may not share login credentials, reproduce or distribute materials, or provide access to others.

7. Group settings

Group settings are educational or coaching environments, not therapy groups. Confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in any group setting. The Company does not control participant-to-participant interaction and is not responsible for private communications between participants or for how participants use information outside the program.

The Company may remove any participant, without refund, for disruptive or harmful behavior, boundary violations, or attempts to convert the program into a therapeutic relationship.

8. Framework Coaching

The applicable Framework Coaching Agreement must be signed before any coaching engagement begins. It sets out roles, fees, scope, confidentiality and its limits, records, and the circumstances in which the Company may disclose information.

Jackie Reynolds is a Board Certified Coach credentialed by the Center for Credentialing and Education and provides coaching in accordance with the BCC Code of Ethics.

Framework Coaching is not therapy or counseling, and the Company will not provide therapy or counseling in any coaching engagement. The Company may decline to begin or continue any engagement not appropriate for coaching, and will refer to licensed clinical care where appropriate.

Free discovery or consultation conversations are not coaching engagements, do not establish a coaching relationship, and create no duty of care.

9. Disclosure obligations

Two separate sets of obligations apply.

Mandatory reporting. Texas law requires any person who has reasonable cause to believe that a child is being abused or neglected to report immediately (Texas Family Code § 261.101). The same applies to abuse, neglect, or exploitation of an elderly person or a person with a disability (Texas Human Resources Code § 48.051). These obligations are universal. They apply regardless of setting, capacity, or the channel through which information reaches the Company.

Danger to self or others. Under the BCC Code of Ethics (Section A, Item 7), which governs coaching engagements only, the Company is required to disclose to appropriate governmental agencies when a participant appears to be a danger to themselves or others.

No duty to warn. Texas law does not require the Company to warn a specific third party of threats made by a participant (Thapar v. Zezulka, 994 S.W.2d 635 (Tex. 1999)). However, Texas Health and Safety Code § 611.004 permits disclosure to law enforcement if there is a probability of imminent physical injury. That disclosure, if made, is protected by statutory immunity.

Disclosure may occur without advance notice. Participants are advised not to disclose identifying details relating to active safety concerns in any Selfhood Studio space.

10. Coaching records

The Company does not maintain psychotherapy or clinical records.

For Framework Coaching participants only, the Company maintains a coaching record containing identifying data, fee and payment information, the signed Coaching Agreement, the purpose and goals of the engagement, session notes, referrals made, and the date the engagement ends. Coaching records are retained for five years from that date, as required by the BCC Code of Ethics, and then disposed of in a manner that protects participant privacy.

Coaching records are maintained separately from any records of the LCSW practice and are not subject to therapist–client privilege.

Purchasers of self-paced courses are not coaching participants and no coaching record is created for them.

11. Recording

Live Framework Coaching sessions are recorded. Recording is governed by the Cohort Participation and Recording Consent, or by the Framework Coaching Agreement for individual engagements, each of which must be signed before content access or coaching begins. Acceptance of these Terms is not consent to be recorded.

Recordings are made available to participants in the same cohort, and are reviewed internally by the Company. Recordings are not published, sold, or used in marketing except under the separate Marketing and Testimonial Release, which is voluntary and revocable.

Participants may not record, screenshot, download, transcribe, or redistribute any session or recording by any means. Unauthorized recording is a material breach and may result in immediate termination of access and legal action.

12. Intellectual property

All Company materials, including course content, videos, recordings, branding, frameworks, and methodologies, are proprietary. Participants receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable personal-use license and may not reproduce, distribute, sell, share publicly or privately, or upload materials to any third-party platform, including any artificial intelligence tool.

13. Proprietary frameworks

The Selfhood Operating System, Inherited Architecture, and all related models, diagrams, and terminology are proprietary intellectual property of the Company. Participants may not teach these frameworks, create derivative works, use them commercially or professionally, or represent them as their own.

14. Unauthorized distribution

Unauthorized sharing of Company materials, including through file-sharing platforms, group chats, online communities, or AI tools, may result in immediate termination of access, legal action, and liability for damages.

15. Third-party services

The Company uses third-party providers including Stripe, Google Workspace, Innovorise (HighLevel), and Zoom. The Company is not responsible for third-party performance, outages, technical failures, or privacy practices. Each provider operates under its own terms.

16. Payment, access, and refunds

For cohort enrollments, the sequence is: payment, then signature of the Framework Coaching Agreement and the Cohort Participation and Recording Consent, then release of content.

A participant who has paid but has not yet signed those documents, and who has therefore received no content, may withdraw and receive a full refund.

Once content has been made accessible, all purchases are final and non-refundable. This applies to self-paced courses from the point of access, and to cohorts from the point of first content release.

No refunds are provided for change of mind, scheduling conflicts, inability to attend, dissatisfaction with outcomes, partial participation, or removal for policy violations. Access to digital materials, or reserved program time, constitutes delivery.

17. Payment plans

Where a payment plan is offered, the participant remains responsible for the full purchase price regardless of continued participation.

Missed payments may result in the entire remaining balance becoming immediately due, and in suspension or revocation of access. Revocation of access does not extinguish the balance owed. The Company may recover reasonable costs of collection.

18. Chargebacks

Participants agree to contact the Company before initiating a chargeback. In the event of a chargeback, the Company may revoke access, dispute the chargeback, and hold the participant responsible for associated costs.

19. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific Offering giving rise to the claim.

20. No reliance

Participants are not relying on Company materials as medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. No specific outcome is guaranteed.

21. Indemnification

Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Selfhood Studio and its owners, employees, contractors, and agents from claims, damages, or costs arising from participation, misuse of materials, or violation of these Terms.

22. Privacy

Use of services is subject to the Privacy Policy. Participants should avoid sharing sensitive personal information in public or group settings.

23. Dispute resolution

Disputes will first be addressed through good-faith communication. If unresolved, mediation is required before further action. Disputes remaining unresolved after mediation may proceed to binding arbitration in the State of Texas. Individual claims in small claims court (or equivalent) within the jurisdictional limit of such court are exempt from the arbitration requirement.

This Section does not limit the Center for Credentialing and Education ethics complaint process applicable to coaching, or any state licensing board complaint process applicable to clinical services provided outside this Company.

24. Changes

The Company may update these Terms. Continued use constitutes acceptance. For material changes, notice will be given by email or prominent website notice.

25. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
